We were greeted by rush hour traffic in Flagstaff. We found The McMillan, but could not find parking. We were directed to a spot out back to load in from, and it was on. After getting set up, and being a bit late, I was offered use of the house P.A., which I took full advantage of. However about a minute into my first song, I realized it sounded like crap. I stopped, told the audience I'd be right back, and I lugged in my own P.A., setting it up in record time. It sounded WAY better, and launched into two hour set, playing until 8:30. Exhausted from the day, I finished and began the pack up. I sold some CD's and thanked the fine staff at The McMillan for their hospitality. Whew! Made it back to our fine room at The Holiday Inn, and then drove a few blocks to Outback Steakhouse where we were the last patrons of the night. We'd made it west, and completed a rare Monday show. Tomorrow was to be a return to our home state of California and a crowning achievement of making it out of the desert. Thank you Flagstaff for the hospitality and showing me that you should never compromise your art when faced with adversity. Now onto sleep and rejuvenation, for the next day was to be a drive into the craziness of Southern California!
